I’m sitting here asking myself how many times do we as parent, sisters, brothers, spouses “STOP THE HAND OF GOD”?
We have all heard the story of the Prodigal Son. We know that he took his inheritance and spent it all, then he “came to himself” and returned to his Father. As Parents we often remind ourselves of this story and pray for the return of our children who are not living according to God’s plan for their lives. Yet we miss what the Father didn’t do.
His Father NEVER went looking for him. He didn’t say come home and we will work things out. He simply LET HIM GO!

Change only comes when the person comes the themself and decides “I want to change”. Then it has to be a heart change. Tears do not change us, only true repentance and TURNING from our old ways will bring true change.

I can see myself throwing a LIFE BUOY out and the rope is tied to me. We follow the wayward person around trying to rescue them from their bad choices. It could be drugs, alcohol, relationships, bad financial decisions, etc.

SO as I try talking to them when they don’t want to hear from me, I send a Text, I post things on Facebook, Snapchat, etc. just trying to get a message to them.
BUT in reality I am stopping the hand of GOD. I can just see God standing behind us as we are running around in rescue mode blocking the hand of God. No doubt God is thinking
get out my way and I will do MY work in their lives!!

If we allow Satan to steal our PEACE and JOY because of the disobedience of others then he not only has control over the Prodigal, but he is controlling us.

STOP throwing out the Life Buoy and STOP getting in God’s way. Our job is to PRAY, to stand on the promises in his word and to chose to walk in peace.

The storm may be raging in your world but we know that PEACE only comes through JESUS!! Just one word from the Father brings PEACE!

As we walk in PEACE we can PRAY in POWER!!!
