04 Mar DETOUR – NOT AGAIN
Do you feel that your life is on a DETOUR?
We all have times when life isn’t going the way that we planned. Or perhaps not one single thing that you thought would happen in your life has come to pass.
As a young girl in high school we were given an assignment. We were to design our home and write a story about what we would do after graduation. I designed a 4 bedroom, 2 story house with 4 kids and I lived happily ever after.
Anyone that knows me, knows that my life is the total opposite of my high school dream.
No doubt few folks can really say they lived the “happily ever after”.
A couple months ago I wrote “Dodging Land Mines”, and “Watch Out, Here Comes a Curve Ball”. Have you experienced those times.?
Some detours in my life have been of my own doing. I made decisions without listening to that “still small voice”, or I convinced myself that I could change a situation.
I was on a business trip in Maryland. On my way to the airport I had to take a detour. I was frantically trying to make my flight home. My GPS must have said a hundred times “make a legal u-turn”. After dropping my rental car off, I boarded the bus the airport, only to see my plane pulling off as I ran to the gate. I didn’t sit at the gate and cry, or I didn’t blame anyone else for missing my flight. I simply went to a phone, reserved a room, booked the next flight which was the following morning and took a taxi to my room.
As I write this I’m reminded of all the times that God is leading us back to the path that he laid out for our lives yet we continue to ignore direction.
I challenge each of us DO NOT take another DETOUR. Listen to that “Still Small Voice”. Listen to God leading and directing.
God’s plans for my life is so much greater than any dream that I could imagine in high school or even now.
God has blessed me beyond my greatest dreams or desires.
Father, we ask that you lead and guide each footstep that we take.
Be Blessed,
KSR
