16 Sep Ready, Get set, Go how would you spend 86,400 per day?
What would you do if you were given 86,400 every single day? Let me lay out the rules of the game.
You wake each morning and you have 86,400 deposited into your account. You must spend the entire amount every day.
You cannot simply transfer it from one account to another. I’m sure it would be easy to spend it the first few days or weeks. Perhaps you would buy each family member a house, or a car. You could donate to your charities, schools, and churches. Go shopping, travel, the list goes on and on.
Image how exciting this would be at least for a while. BUT then it becomes exhausting to figure out how to spend the 86,400 every single day.
We all become excited when we think this is money, but do you realize it’s life?
Let’s think about this a bit differently. Do you realize that each of us is given 86,400 seconds each and every day of our lives. WOW, think about that. How many hours have we wished away, how many days have we wished away? The days turn into months and the months turn into years.
We are busy doing life and neglect to live life. I shared this story at a Ladies Business Meeting at Wright State University a couple years ago. This was a room full of business owners, managers, educators, no doubt all were busy people. Many ladies sat there some with tears in their eyes just shaking there heads. A few came up to me afterwards with plans to change how they were doing life.
I want to encourage you to LIVE life, don’t just tolerate life. God created each of us uniquely for a plan and purpose on this earth. Are we Living to work, or are we working to live. Are we going through the motions of life and then one day we realize that years have passed, our kids are grown, perhaps are parents or friends are gone.
I for one have wished away years of my life because of bad decisions, heartache and failures.
Lets make a change, when we wake up each morning I want to thank my God for giving me the gift 86,400 seconds this day. I will do my best to spend it wisely.
