What IF?

What IF?

How many times in life do we play the same scene over and over in our mind? I don’t know about you but I have spent countless hours playing out the what-if’s in many situations. The outcome that I expected often was not the reality of my situation.

We’ve all heard the Fear is the opposite of Faith or to say it another way. Worry is the opposite of Believing! So we know this in our head but how do we make this our reality.

The words in 2 Corinthians 10 verse 5 says “Casting down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.”

What are the “high things” in your life and mind? It could be our health, or the sickness of a loved one. It could be the emotional war that is raging in the hearts and minds of a child. Is your heart broken from the loss or rejection of that special someone?

PRAY THE WORD:

A local Judge that I met said “I will teach you to Pray the Word and you can teach me to Love”

A small group was meeting in an empty court room talking about addiction and strongholds. He walked over, closed the door and began praying THE WORD. It was amazing to hear him pray, such a peace came into the room. I will never forget the power in his prayer as tears streamed down my face.

The pray went something like this. God we are facing ???????? (you fill in the blank) he would then say “your Word says” (he quoted the scripture) I was amazed that he knew the Word, the Scripture for every situation that we were praying about.

WEAPONS:

No words, no prayer could ever be more powerful that reminding God of his promises in his word.

Our spiritual weapons are “The Word”

Praying doesn’t have to be on your knees in a church. Praying is keeping your mind on the Word. We have to keep our minds on the promises of God.

When taking with addicts I have said many many times “If you have to scream Jesus at the the top of your lungs to stop the thoughts in your head then do it” There was a time when I would literally just say Jesus over and over in mind. I could not pray anything that made sense. My mind would go a thousand different directions with all the what-if’s. The only way that I could control that was simply to cry out “Jesus” in my mind. I promise you it works!!

Once your thoughts become more manageable find the scripture that speaks to the battle that is raging in you or your loved one. Write it down, carry it with you. Read it first thing each morning and the last thing each night.

Blessing,

KR
